Parents and Community Members--
Good evening! I wanted to share a few quick updates in advance of tomorrow's supply drop-off, in light of the past few days:
- My sincerest apologies to parents that have been trying to reach the school yesterday and today, but our phone and internet at the school have been down. It is an AT&T issue that they are working to resolve, and it is my hope that our full communication systems are restored tomorrow.
- We were notified by SchoolKidz late last week about a delay in shipping of the 80 supply kits for those of you who ordered them to be delivered to school (the delay is to all of the CPS schools that ordered from this company). In our attempts to pin the company down to an exact time and date of delivery, their response has been "by the start of school". It was our hope that you would have those kits by now and could at least access them by the supply drop-off day, but this will most likely not be the case. When the kits get in, we will send out a notification to the parents. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
- Tomorrow will be our supply drop-off and PTO-sponsored picnic and ice cream social from 3-4pm. Our teachers and entire staff have been working non-stop this week to get classrooms in order, in between professional development sessions. Just to put our teachers' minds at ease, I want to let all of our parents know that the classrooms and building in general will still be a work-in-progress, getting ready for the first day of school on Tuesday. Please only use the main entrance on Hamlin for entry and exit tomorrow, due to the continuing presence of the construction crew. And, lastly, pardon our dust, as they say.
A lot of apologies in this email, but I like to think that we are getting all of the hiccups out of the way now! Have a good night, and I'm looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow!
