Yesterday I was informed that the planning process for the
design and construction of our new playground starts...NOW! Very exciting! So many people have contributed time, energy, and resources to make this happen, and I'm excited for our community. We need your feedback on what should be prioritized in the new playground. We've had community meetings, and now we need to hear from the rest of you, including students! The link to the survey is

We want everyone to take the survey--parents, students, staff, and community members. Parents, please help us by taking the survey yourself and then answering the questions on behalf of your children in separate survey responses. We want to make sure that the kids' voices are heard!
Survey responses are due by Friday, June 24.
I am excited to announce that we will be working with the YMCA for our before and after school programming next year. The YMCA will be hosting before school programming at Solomon from 7-9am daily, and we are looking for community input on what our after school programming should look like. As I've told some families, our after school childcare programming attracted only a small number of families, so it is not a guarantee that we will be able to offer 5 days a week programming after school.
That said, we need your help!
To request registration for before school childcare at Solomon and/or to tell the YMCA what you need for after school childcare in the 2022-2023 school year, please click here. As soon as we have sufficient responses, I will work with the YMCA to find the best solution for our school and our families.
We do plan on offering some free before and after school programming through our OST program several days a week, as we have the past several years. That will likely start in October 2022.
Confirmation emails to all families that signed up their child for Solomon Summer Camp will be coming out tomorrow. In that email, you will see all the logistics you need for a successful summer camp.

summer main office schedule will begin on Friday, June 17. Please click
here for information on when our main office will be open to the public over the summer, as well as registration of new students.
If your child will not be returning to Solomon for the 2022-2023 school year, please let us know in the main office (773-534-5226 or email ajtamborino@cps.edu) by Tuesday, June 14, so that we can prepare documents for you prior to the start of our summer business hours. Documents will be prepared for family pick-up on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week during normal business hours (9am-4pm).
