Dear Solomon Family--

It was great seeing so many of you for our Game Night on Friday night. We had a full gym, and I hope that you enjoyed that time together as a community. A big thank you to our upper grade student volunteers--we could not have done this without you!

This week we will be hosting a community meeting, in-person (library) or virtual (, to gather your feedback on playground enhancements that we will be receiving through the 39th Ward Participatory Budgeting process. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 30, at 6pm, and everyone is invited to join and provide your feedback.

We are also hosting our first Tot Time of the year for families of prospective Pre-K students on Thursday, March 31, from 4:30-5:30pm in room 108.

Parents are welcome to join me on Thursday, March 31, in the lobby at 9:15am for our next Coffee with the Solomon Principal. This month's session will focus on Solomon's school improvement plan (CIWP) and offer opportunities for you to provide feedback on our goals and next steps.

There are times when my work and that of my better half, Kendra, intersects; she works for Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. She shared with me a Spanish-language video that one of their physicians recently produced for another CPS school on COVID-19 and vaccination. I'm linking it here and encouraging you to share this information far and wide.

In partnership,

Chris Gamble
