Dear Solomon Family--

Courtesy of CPS, Solomon will be sending home a "take-home" COVID testing kit with all students on Thursday, December 16. The purpose of these kits are to ensure a safe learning environment when we return from Winter Break on January 3, 2022.

The goal is for families to have their test results prior to children returning to Solomon on January 3. Families are encouraged to test their children on Tuesday, December 28, and then drop off the test at their nearest FedEx Drop Box location on the same day.

For the official district letter to parents, please read below. The letter has information on how to administer the COVID test, how to create an account, and where you can find a FedEx Drop Box location.

This is an optional test, but I highly recommended that it is completed in the timeframe that the district provided. We had a number of positive tests, and thus quarantined classrooms, after Thanksgiving Break, and it is our hope that testing will help reduce the number of quarantines that need to be enforced.

Once again, the kits will go home with all students tomorrow. If your child is not at Solomon tomorrow and you would like a kit, please call our main office to arrange a pick up. If you have any questions, please call us at 773-534-5226.

Additionally, I am excited to announce that we will be hosting a 2-dose vaccination event at Solomon in January. I will have fliers with more information available shortly.
