Details about our 2nd Solomon Beautification Day on August 19 is below. We need all the volunteers we can get to finish the primary hallway!
Solomon Beautification Day: August 19 from 3-8pm

We are scheduling a 2nd "Solomon Beautification Day" a week from today, August 19, from 3-8pm. Our goal for the day is to finish painting the primary hallway. Please respond to this survey by Friday, August 16, at 5pm, if we can count on you being there for this day of TLC (tender loving care) at Solomon. All participants that respond will get an email confirmation and more details about the event.

For day 1, we had 12 helpers--let's double that for August 19 so that we can finish the work before school starts! If you have a child in or going into high school this year, this is a great opportunity for them to get some service learning hours. Thank you for helping our school to look its best for our students!
Back to School Block Party
Don't miss our annual event on Thursday, August 29, our Back to School party from 2:45-5:30. The first hour of the event, 2:45-3:45, is set aside for supply drop off in classrooms and an opportunity to connect with your child's teacher before the year starts. Outside in our playground area, we will also have popsicles, popcorn, games, and other fun. We will also have some of our after-school activities providers on site to answer any questions you might have. It is a great way to get a taste of school before the start of the year, and we hope to see you there!

August 22: Pre-K (room 108) Play Date @ Hollywood Park (10am-12pm)

  • Registration for before- and after-school care (7-9am, 4-6pm) with J at School, our provider for the past two years, is now open. Click here for online registration and here for a printable registration form. New this year: J at School will coordinate our enrichment programming, such as iCook, Young Rembrandts, and others, and registration for those programs will open later in the month.

  • School supply lists are available at our website, solomon.cps.edu. For those of you who ordered SchoolKidz supply kits, we expect to get those the week of August 12 and will have them in rooms at the time of the Back to School party/supply drop-off.

  • CPS is hosting a family day at Six Flags Great America on August 17. Check out the flier below for more details:
