Dear Parents and Community--

We are approaching a week of some uncertainty, with a strike date of Thursday, October 17, has been set by the Chicago Teachers Union and the Service Employees International Union Local 73. We hope for a speedy resolution to which all parties can agree. To prepare, the district is asking that all parents who intend to send their child(ren) to school during the strike register in advance at Meals would be served, and students would be supervised with non-educational activities by adults, which includes me and any other adults that might be deployed from the downtown offices. Please read the information at the above website for any more information.

I will update the community via email, robocall, and Twitter (@PrincipalGamble) as more details become available. To keep informed closer to the strike date, please watch local newscasts or follow the different sides via social media (@CTULocal1, @SEIU73, @ChiPubSchools).

As a reminder, Monday, October 14 is Indigenous People's Day and Columbus Day. School is closed on that date. Classes resume Tuesday, October 15. Enjoy the long weekend.
