Dear Solomon Family--

Welcome, everyone, to the start of Quarter 2. Friday was a day for staff to dig into supports for English language learners, collaborate as teams in planning for the upcoming quarter, and, of course, finish up Quarter 1 grades. Report cards will be mailed by the district this week to the home address provided in Aspen.

We are also getting ready for our Parent Teacher Conference Day on November 18. Even though report cards will be mailed home, November 18 is still a non-attendance day for students and dedicated to virtual conferences between the hours of 11:00-2:30 and 3:15-6:00. Homeroom teachers have started sending out invitations to families, so be on the look-out for those in your email. If you are having any difficulty connecting with a teacher to set up a conference, please call our main office, 773-534-5226, for assistance.

We also want to show our gratitude to our nation's veterans and those currently serving in our armed forces. This coming Wednesday is Veteran's Day, and it is a day of attendance for students this school year.

In partnership,

Chris Gamble
Principal
Hannah G. Solomon Elementary School

Friends of Solomon School PTO Updates

  • Join us for our monthly meeting this coming Wednesday, November 11, at 6pm!

  • Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 60 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. The exciting part is that you can select any piece of artwork from home! You can use art from e-learning, choose a piece from earlier in the year, or create something new. Just click on this link, click the "upload" button, select a piece of artwork, search for your child's name, and start shopping. You can upload additional pieces and save them in a digital family gallery. Have fun creating and shopping!

  • Online shopping through Amazon's charitable giving site Amazon Smile gets you what you need, while Amazon gives back to our school. Make sure you log in to smile.amazon.com and choose Friends of Solomon School Parent Teacher Organization as your designated charity and watch the donations add up! To date, Amazon Smile has donated a total of: $106.99 to Friends of Solomon School PTO!

  • And please remember to "Like" Friends of Solomon School PTO on Facebook!

Solomon Spirit Wear
I am excited to announce that we have a new partner for Solomon spirit wear this year, SquadLocker. Great new gear--t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, shorts, polos, face masks...you name it. Peter the Cougar never looked so good. And, you can order at any time, and it will be delivered to your door. This replaces the once-a-year order that our staff and volunteers had previously organized in the building.

Click here to see what is available now, and be the first on your block to represent Solomon in our new gear!
