Dear Solomon Families--

Good evening, all. This afternoon city leadership shared that there is an agreement between CPS and CTU in place, pending a member vote. I will have more information in the next update, but as you plan for tomorrow, Monday, February 8 will be an all-remote learning day. All students are asked to participate in the same remote learning schedule that we have followed last week. Please check your email for additional information from the district.

In the meantime, as we prepare for our students' return:

  • We are asking that students returning for in-person learning and their parents both complete "Cougar Pledges", in order to illustrate what we will need from everyone to have a successful re-entry. Please have your child return these (student and parent) on the first day of school.
  • Below are step-by-step directions to get your child(ren)'s health screener form sent directly to your phone each day when in-person learning resumes.
  • This letter details changes in school-wide procedures due to COVID-19 for all in-person learners.

In the meantime, we are in the final week for voting in the 39th Ward Participatory Budgeting ballot, which includes 2 Solomon projects. See below for more information. Voting requires pre-registration, which we are hearing is a couple day process, and then voting itself closes on February 12. So pre-register today!

Take care, and stay safe,

Chris Gamble
